Performance

Our most popular course, the Performance two-day program begins with a brief classroom session discussing vehicle dynamics and the driving line. Master the proper driving line and the many technical corners of the track, while continuing to sharpen basic skills at the Autocross, Skid Pad and Braking exercises. Day two is dedicated to Track Sessions, the Trail Braking exercise, competing in the Autocross Challenge, and more skid pad time. The program wraps up with thrilling Hot Lap rides with the instructors.

*Driver’s must be 21 years or older to participate and possess a current, valid driver’s license.

Skills development includes:
Handling Dynamics Learn the importance of weight/load management in performance driving and discover the difference that braking technique, throttle management and steering input have on the handling dynamics of a vehicle.
Vision Skills The most important skill to master for any type of driving is proper use of the eyes. Learning to look where you want to go and looking as far ahead as possible is important in order to be smooth, drive the correct line and control the vehicle. Our instructors place heavy emphasis on this and know how to fine tune proper vision skills.
Understeer/Oversteer On our specially designed skid pad, you will experience understeer and oversteer. Our instructors will teach you how to recognize when these situations occur and how to correct them.
Driving Line The proper line allows a driver to carry the most speed available through a turn and/or positions the car for the next turn. Learning to connect the turn-in, apex, and track-out points requires drivers to combine their vision skills with correct steering, braking, and throttle inputs.
Braking Technique Learning how to apply initial brake pressure in a variety of conditions will shorten the distance required to slow the vehicle to the correct entry speed into a corner. In this drill, drivers will focus on developing a feel for the brakes and maximizing the tires’ capability while decelerating. This is also known as threshold braking.
