PORSCHE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE

Route 66 Tour

It may be a desert, but when it comes to driving roads, Arizona is a true oasis. Our Tour of Route 66 includes famous stretches of “America’s Mother Road” and some of the most unforgettable drives and scenery Arizona has to offer. The Route 66 Tour is thoughtfully planned, and you’ll be able to leave your worries behind to focus on the road while being led by a skilled Porsche Track Experience Instructor. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the company of like-minded Porsche Enthusiasts who appreciate the brand’s design and performance.

  2. Day 2:Scottsdale to La Posada Hotel and Gardens, Winslow

Maybe you've heard the song about standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. But since you'll be driving a 911, the corners on the way there will be far more riveting. The stunning drive to Winslow brings you to La Posada, a historic Southwestern hotel that has played host to guests such as Albert Einstein, Amelia Earhart, and John "The Duke" Wayne. Before settling in, guests may wish to join an optional drive to Meteor Crater, site of a prehistoric meteor impact.

  3. Day 3:Winslow to L'Auberge de Sedona

Our drive today will follow part of the old Route 66 road bed then veer north and skirt the Painted Desert with subsequent stops at the dormant Sunset Volcano Crater and Wupatki Ruins. We will then continue to Flagstaff for lunch and an opportunity to walk around a quintessential Route 66 waypoint. After lunch we will continue our drive to Sedona and our home base for the next two nights at L'Auberge de Sedona.

  4. Day 4:Sedona to Flagstaff; back to L'Auberge de Sedona

After a brief breakfast we will have an optional “up and back” drive north along scenic Highway 89A through Oak Creek Canyon. Later in the afternoon, we will drive some fabulous roads from Sedona into the Coconino National Forest, returning for dinner in Sedona. Some guests may choose to rest and explore town or relax at the Spa at L’Auberge as an alternative to driving. That’s OK; this is your vacation!

  5. Day 5:Sedona to Hassayampa Inn, Prescott

After two great days exploring Sedona and the surrounding area, it is time to move on. We will head to Jerome, a historic mining town perched on the side of a mountain. After a short break and brief exploration of the town, we will continue on one of the most favored, challenging and scenic roads on our trip, Highway 89A. Our midday destination is Prescott (locals pronounce this preskitt). We will have lunch at the historic Hassayampa Inn dining room and check in to the hotel. There will be another opportunity to drive after lunch and explore some back roads surrounding Prescott before returning for dinner.

  6. Day 6:Prescott to Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa

Sadly, today will be the end of the behind-the-wheel experience. We saved one of the best driving roads for last. After departing Prescott, you will experience the curve-after-curve fun of the road from Prescott down to the desert along the lightly travelled Highway 89.  After a delightful detour and stop at a little-known mountain lake and marina, we will cross the high desert and make our way back to the Andaz in Scottsdale.

  7. Day 7:Program Concludes: depart Scottsdale

The fun has to end. But the memories will live on in your photos and new friendships. Before long, you might decide it’s time to start planning your next trip with Porsche Travel Experience USA.
