THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
1.3 Mile Handling Circuit
A 1.3-mile circuit designed to mimic a canyon road with a number of corners and undulations. Drivers learn proper braking technique and how to choose the correct line when negotiating corners. Our Handling Circuit has been designed not as a race track, but as a place to test and refine a driver’s skills, using the natural contours of the land to offer a variety of challenges.
THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
Low-Friction Handling Circuit
The Low Friction Handling Circuit is a dry polished concrete circuit, with multiple corners of varying shape, that provide the ultimate test of car control.
THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
Ice Hill
The Ice Hill simulates an icy mountain road where a driver is likely to lose control up or down the hill. The Ice Hill has a 7% slope, computer-controlled water jets and a low friction surface. This combination provides a unique and challenging scenario to test even the most experienced of drivers.
THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
Kick Plate
The Kick Plate is a computer-controlled hydraulically-actuated plate, set flush to the road surface, designed to induce loss of rear wheel traction, putting the car into a skid or spin. Drivers are taught the correct technique to ‘catch’ the slide and bring the car under control.
THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
Acceleration Straight
The Acceleration Straight provides a safe and controlled environment to fully explore how a Porsche accelerates when using Launch Control. Near the end of this 3/4 mile module is a replica of the Karussell (Carousel), the famous banked curve on the Nordschleife (North Loop) of the Nürburgring.
THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
Low-Friction Circle
The Low Friction Circle is a 300-foot diameter, wetted polished concrete circle that creates an ideal environment to provoke, correct and hold oversteer at various speeds.
THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
Off-Road Circuit
The Off-Road Circuit is designed to demonstrate the technical systems of the Porsche Cayenne and Macan in unpaved conditions. The course includes ascents and descents up to 78%, rough terrain and challenging side slopes that will test even the most impressive 4x4s. After ascending to the top of the 25-foot hill, drivers are rewarded with a spectacular view of the entire track.
THE DRIVER DEVELOPMENT TRACK
Dynamics Pad
An open, paved area where handling characteristics and proper driving techniques are showcased while navigating through specialized exercises with dry traction. This area can also be configured to accommodate custom programs.
