1994 Turbo S “Flachbau”

This is Ryan’s absolute dream car. Around 76 of these rare “Flatnose” 911 were built. The Porsche factory had 93 Turbo chassis left. These were all transferred to Porsche Exclusive, and hand built as the very special 964 Turbo 3.6 S. They were offered with normal, or ‘Flachbau’ front ends. While the vast majority of Turbo S’ were fitted with the ‘Flachbau’ nose as a no-cost option, the Turbo S could also be had with the traditional 964 nose as well. In all, 76 Flatnose cars were made.

Ryan flew to Texas to see the car in person, knowing how few of them come up for sale he knew the opportunity to own his dream car was right in front of him.

Porsche 914-6

Jeff learned to drive in the 35th 911 ever made, officially it was a 901. This 914-6 is the first car that Jeff purchased after high school. In 1997, he completed the 10,000-mile, 25-day long Panama-Alaska Rally, finishing second out of sixty teams. His Porsche survived with a few minor cracks in the chassis. This car has wider fenders and lighter hood making it unique. Jeff has owned this 914-6 for 52 years.

Ossi Blue 912

This 912 is owned by Craig Linkous. Craig has owned this car since he was in college. This car has recently gone through restoration here in Atlanta at Porsche Classic Factory Restoration. Before its restoration the car sat undriven until the connection was made to Porsche Classic and they brought the car back to life. The 912 was introduced as Porsche’s entry level sports car and was based on the 911 with the engine from the 356SC. The price difference from the 356C to the 911 inspired Porsche to bring this car to market to bridge the price gap. Sitting next to a 911 they will look similar, the 911 often sitting a bit lower to the ground than the 912. At the time a lot of Porsche drivers preferred the characteristics of the 912 as it had less weight over the rear axle.

1965 911

We purchased the car at Bonhams Amelia Island in 2018 after Katherine spotted and fell in love with it. The vehicle has an interesting story. It was originally ordered by Bob Holbert (one of the original Porsche dealers in the USA in the 1960’s and a racecar driver in the 50’s and 60’s) as a personal vehicle and his son, Al, used it while he attended college. The second and third owners were both personal friends of Bob Holbert. The second owner had the car from 1967-1982 and the third owner then kept it until 2012 when it was sold to the owner of Woodhouse Porsche. The car then underwent a major nut and bolt restoration which began in February 2012 and was completed in December 2014.

Katherine:

I grew up in the UK and my dad always drove British vehicles, but I was always drawn to the aesthetic of the 911 and still am.

Conrad:

My love of Porsches began as a child when I first saw a 911 on the Autobahn while driving through Germany.

1968 911 L

This is Tim and his wife Denise’s third Porsche, all of which are 911’s. The 911 L came to them through an auction that Tim didn’t mean to win. He was mowing the lawn and taking breaks to submit bids during the last hours of the auction. He was sure the car would end up at a figure that was out of his reach. The last ding from the site letting him know he was outbid never came.  He and unknowingly his wife, were now owners of a 1968 911 L, he was left thinking “what have I done?” Tim went inside to find his wife and tell her the news and started with “Please don’t be mad at me?” she responded with “What did or you do? Or better yet what did you buy?” Tim said “You know that little green car you love? We own it!” The green over tan, matched the first new car that Denise had purchased, a 1990 Nissan 240sx that was also green over tan. The story was passed onto the seller through the consigner and he loved it and was happy it was going to a home where the car would be driven. The car has been an amazing addition to their family and it brings them so much joy. Tim and Denise didn’t know much about the 911 L model. They have loved learning about the L and why it exists. Because of the EPA, Porsche could not send the S because the motor didn’t meet standards and hence the L for 1968 only. It is numbers matching and delivered new July 17th, 1968, to Porsche of San Antonio just as you see it today.  The car was restored in the UK from 2017-2019 and purchased from the seller at auction in 2019.

2023 RSR-19 “Rexy”

In 2023 the GTE LM AM class Rexy was raced by AO Racing with drivers Matteo Cairoli, P.J. Hyett and Gunnar Jeannette. AO stands for Autumn Oaks, a collection of mostly historic racing cars. AO Racing this year won the IMSA GTD Pro class and Driver’s Championship with the newer 911 GT3 R Rexy. Where the Rexy livery comes from: The inspiration came from Team Principal and Driver PJ Hyett, in honor of his children. Hyett proudly sported a T-Rex for his son and a unicorn for his daughter on his helmet, taking his family with him as he races. When conferring with AO Racing Motorsport Director Gunnar Jeannette, the pair came up with Rexy, the new fan favorite in sports car racing. With a grill full of sharp teeth, Rexy looks fierce, hungry to take down the competition, but wins fans over with his short arms and strong legs. The livery was a hit with race fans.
